TUTORING

I

As a mom of two college-aged students, I understand how challenging the switch to online school has been for many busy parents and their children and would like to help ease the transition with my skills as tutor.  When my twins entered college in 2018, I found a demand by college students for help in outlining, researching, and writing essays and term papers, and expanded my business to include tutoring. I have really enjoyed working with young people and see the switch to online classes as a good opportunity to once again expand the scope of my business to include tutoring students in grades 6-12 in writing and the social sciences.

While I have experience with tutoring, what qualifies me most to help your children during this time of disruption is my experience as a mom. Having successfully navigated the school system in Colorado as a parent, I am familiar with the curriculum, but more importantly, having a daughter and son, I understand the unique needs and learning styles of both boys and girls in middle school and high school. I am detail-oriented, organized and professional, but also have a sense of humor and believe learning should be fun. (And include breaks for snacks!)

I am a published author with experience editing and creating web content as well as high-level tutoring in writing. I was a former ESL teacher and am comfortable tutoring in all the social sciences, as well as help with organization and study skills.

I welcome the opportunity to talk with you about the individual needs of your student(s) and am willing to conduct in-person sessions and/or sessions via Zoom. I look forward to hearing from you and for the opportunity to help your children meet their educational goals.
